How to Play

1. Set your bet with the +/− buttons, then click Deal Cards.
2. Play your hand with Stay, Hit, Split, Double Down, or Surrender. Only the options your current rules and hand allow are enabled.
3. After you act, the Optimal: label shows what the exhaustive-search engine would have played for the exact cards remaining, so you can check your decision immediately.
4. Deck Remaining can be clicked to reshuffle early; Shoe Depth cycles how much of the shoe is dealt before an automatic reshuffle.
5. Balance can be clicked at any time to reset your bankroll to the starting amount.

The simulator uses the same exhaustive-search engine as our strategy calculator, and it respects every rule you set on the settings page: deck count, dealer soft 17 behavior, double-after-split, resplitting aces, surrender availability, and 3:2 or 6:5 blackjack payouts. How to get the most out of your practice

• Start with a full shoe and play until your decisions match the optimal move consistently — hard 12–16 hands are where most mistakes happen.
• Lower the shoe depth to force frequent reshuffles while you're learning, then raise it to practice deck-composition awareness as cards leave the shoe.
• Watch the remaining card counts and try to anticipate when the optimal play deviates from basic strategy — this is the foundation of card counting.
• Use the balance tracker as an honest scoreboard: perfect play in a standard 3:2 game loses well under 1% per hand, so a steep decline means missed plays.
